IDC starts tracking quarterly tablet and eReader shipments
International Data Corporation (IDC) has initiated a Worldwide Quarterly Media Tablet and eReader Tracker, saying that vendors shipped 4.8 million media tablets globally in 3Q10, compared to 3.3 million units in the second quarter of 2010 and that Apple’s iPad accounted for nearly 90 percent of the media tablets shipped worldwide in 3Q10.
