Question by Caitlin: If the iPad doesn’t support Adobe flash, how come you can still sort of watch Youtube videos?
The Youtube application sucks because the video wont play all the way through. The only thing i have found is that Youtube uses flash. If iPad doesnt support Flash, then wouldnt it not be able to play at all?

What do you think? Answer below!

Youtube is currently hosting both flv (flash video) files, and m4v (mp4 video) files.
Youtube is adapting to the new HTML5 standard, which states that certain videos must play natively on your HTML5 compliant browser, safari on iPad for example.
In response to Apple not wanting to allow Flash to run on the iPad YouTube has started to provide it’s videos in a format that doesn’t require flash, This doesn’t explain why the video doesn’t play all the way through.
It may be the bit at the end of the video you are talking about is the animation showing similar videos that you might want to watch, this is not part of the video, and is a part that does require flash…
The Youtube app works fine on mine.
Apple doesn’t support videos created using Adobe Flash. Because of this, many sites are moving away from Falsh so iPod/iPhone/iPad users can view their videos.
Generally ipad support MP4, H.264, MPEG-4, MOV and AAC, M4A, MP3, AIFF, So you can convert your Video/DVD file to any of them above.
