Question by ztatszwiggar: What can a regular laptop do that an iPad cannot?
I’m considering buying an iPad 64GB soon because of its cheap price. Should I wait until September for a possible new version? What can, for instance, my Macbook Pro and other laptops do that an Ipad cannot? Please be as specific as possible. I’m a college student and I heard the iPad can be used to take good notes and all that good stuff. I have a 64GB 4th generation Ipod Touch and a Macbook Pro already.

not much.
Though Ipad has many features that make it sound like a good substitute for a laptop, it really has quite some limitations. Well for one, Laptops come with an optical drive. This allows the user to play movies, install games, and also install utilities. Ipad is portable but doesn’t come with an optical drive. A laptop allows you to edit it system properties or even BIOS. But an ipad must be jailbroken to do so, voiding the warranty with it. A regular laptop has more IO ports on it (USB, VGA/HDMI out)
If your trying to choose between them; then I would say laptop unless you want a portable, thin computer and you care less about extra available components. Im not saying that an Ipad isnt a good choice, hence I dont even own one, but Im just saying a laptop has more capabilities
