Question by : What is the purpose of getting an ipad if I already have a laptop?
I am going to be taking my laptop to college and everything to take notes and help me with school and writing papers, etc., but what is the purpose of the ipad. If I were to get an ipad what would I do with it. Should I buy one if I already have a laptop? I need help people!

I had used an I-pad a little in the past. They are all around different from a lap top. Way more portable and smaller. But I would way rather had a lap top. They are a lot more up-gradable and can run more things then an I-pad.
To be a trendy little yuppie f–k. Seriously, an ipad is a nifty little thing but who out there wants to type a paper on one or spend any significant amount of time sitting in front of one? I guess they do have docking stations for them (get a tiny little apple keyboard) but I’d rather have a laptop with a full size keyboard and a 17′ screen (thats just me though). Thats not to mention my laptop has a dedicated video card and I can game on it (not sucky apple “apps”).
An iPad is not a need, it is a want, as are any other tablets. However, they are VERY useful and bridge the gap between a cellphone and a laptop/desktop. You will find that it is very portable, has a crazy battery life, and if you have Internet connectivity, which you will at school, then you can do almost everything with it that you’d do with a laptop. (Besides gaming life Crysis, BF3, etc.)
As far as which one to buy, this is a matter of choice. iPad folks swear by their devices, and they are very nice. However, you can use something from ASUS, Motorola in the Android 4 family, and find it just as useful. The non-Apple devices tend to be less expensive, saving your $ for other stuff that college will demand.
To sum up, a tablet isn’t required, but if you have the $, they are definitely worth the expense. As to which one, do your research and use your friends to find out which one you want.
