Question by Bob Newhart: Will Apple’s iPad fail?
This looks like a useless product with no market except for people with too much money or idiot Mac fanboys who will buy anything Steve Jobs poops.
-It doesn’t have an SD card slot or USB slot. You want to load all your photos on it? You need to buy a special dongle and attach it to the iPad. Ah yes, that’s convenient and cost-effective.
-You need to lay it flat and look straight down at it to type on it. It’s not like a netbook or laptop where the keyboard is flat and the screen is in front of your face.
-You can buy a keyboard accessory — you can spend extra money to turn a low-power netbook-type tablet into a non-portable desktop computer. Meanwhile there are products like Lenovo U1 Hybrid where you can slip the tablet into a netbook shell and turn it into a portable, foldable laptop.
-Apple wants to say it will be great for reading books and magazines, but it has a bright, glossy LCD screen. Meanwhile, electronic book reader devices use an electronic ink technology that doesn’t strain the eyes and can be used in the sun.
-You cannot multitask. You can only do one task at a time. If you want to surf the web and type into a document, you can’t. You need to exit one and then open the other.
-It costs 0, minimum, and has a 1 ghz processor. Products with similar specs and abilities cost less than that.
My netbook has a 1.6 ghz Atom processor and cost me 0. And my netbook has an SD slot so I can make the hard drive space as large as I want. And my netbook has USB ports. And I can do multiple tasks on my netbook. Fact is, tablets have been around forever and the mainstream market didn’t want them. Just because they’ve slapped an Apple logo on it, should people suddenly want it?
Seems like Apple is hoping this will help them launch their new book store. I think the iPad is dumb.

In a nutshell, no. Apple succeeds in nearly everything they put in stores. It may have a few problems, but overall it’ll be great.

I think it fails aswell. Cell phones have 1GHZ processors too lmfao!!! My Dream Itablet would be:
Dual core 2GHz cortex a9 (soon to be in cell phones)
Nvidia Tegra 2 Graphics for HD out (Zune HD outputs in 720p and is 4x smaller!!!)
Alteast a 250GB laptop HD to keep it slim (64gb flash pshhh)
Running MAC OSX instead of itouch/iphone software
And some usb/card reader slots
MULTI-TASK what time is this 1920? APPLE get real!!!
That could be built for around $400, retail could be around $550-$XXXX
A netbook would be better investment instead of this SH*T
Yep, they might as well change its ugly name to iFail as well. I mean seriously, that thing is just an over sized iTouch, Lol. And I thought apple was leading innovation. What a shame.
Potentially it already failed…
Its announcement had never generated such dissapointment, even Apple fanboys thought it sucked, so I cant picture anyone buying this if you can get a proper netbook for half the price.
more stuff to consider:
No multitasking
Ported OS
No Webcam
Ugly Bezel
No Adobe Flash (not even flash lite)
Incompatible 3G (mini sim, and limited networks)
Not widescreen (4:3)
No HDMI out (a new industry standard)
Not ammoled (Much better for reading books)
Expensive peripherals
Ported iphone Apps resolution are stretched not upscaled
iBook only available in US

Also as with the iphone you are restricted to use Apple-blessed apps only and you must depend on the damn itunes to load stuff onto it. It’s pretty, you look hip with it, but it’s fairly useless. Get yourself a cheap ass netbook and you can do much more with it than with this thing.
Tablets failed, a restriction-ridden tablet will fail harder, but there will be people who buy this thing just for the novelty.
