Some developers claim that they will no longer develop applications for Apple products. Apple said the movement is to improve code quality of the store in the App Store. Many developers use some special tools for physical modeling, or as the engine of 3D graphics. These tools help developers create games and other specific types of applications. According to Apple’s latest terms, any application that will be submitted to Apple should use the specific tools, or they will be refused entering into App Store.
Many developers have showed their resentment to Apple in blogs. One developer named Hank Williams said: “Developers are not free to use the various helpful tools, which seems to ask developers to come to specific table to redact iPhone software.” Another developer Pierre • Lebo Ping said that the changed terms of Apple’s is hardly feasible. He urged developers to express their dissatisfaction towards Apple.
Many developers have joined the group “I go with the Adobe” of Facebook. So far, the group has 6,000 members. A programmer named Dan Gris said he will not develop applications for iPhone. Another named Greg sent a letter to Apple CEO Steve • Jobs (Steve Jobs) and said the changed terms limits the creativity.
What Jobs responded is that the restriction is used to improve the quality of application. If they allow developers use other tools it will lead to “non-standard application”, so as to hinder the development of iPhone. The official of Apple has not yet commented on such dissatisfaction from outside. Industry experts pointed out, the restriction made by Apple will prevent developers to reuse the application of Adobe Flash. iPhone and iPad currently do not support Flash. Adobe released the Creative Suite 5 software on April 12; it aims to help developers to change Flash code into iPhone code.
Flash programs are often encountered on the internet and many games as well as videos are developed on Flash bases. However, according to the new terms of Apple, developers use the Creative Suite 5 will lead to applications rejected by Apple.
Adobe made it clear in a declaration that Apple`s modification of articles of authority would not affect its issue of this new type of software. CTO of Adobe Kevin Lynch declares in his blog, [We will continue to provide this function in CS5, it depends on Apple whether to use it or not.”
