Question by Smilin’ Smith!: Does an iPad have to be linked to a credit card to download free stuff?
Ive had my iPad linked to a small pre paid card but it recently ran out, now I can’t download anything, not even free updates for my apps. Is there any way I can download free stuff without having to link my iTunes account to a working credit card?

you are actually able to download the update without paying anything. however you should use the same iTunes account when you bought the application.
if you are asking that you are able to buy free stuffs without iTunes that has working credit card? I would say YES, however you should put the payment method into None instead of your credit card number.
