Question by Shaun Rice: High-Quality iPad Case?
I recently purchased an iPad, and I have had difficulty finding a quality case for it. I’ve tried many different types, from several different companies, but in the end I’ve returned each one within a week, mostly because of poor build. Each time, no matter how much care is used in handling, each has started deteriorating within the first 2 days of owning the particular case.
I’ve checked on the internet, and I have found one I’m interested in. The Dodo Case seems to be pretty high-quality to me, and I’m planning on purchasing one. So, this part of my question is directed towards people who either own a Dodo Case, or those who have tried them out.
How safe is the iPad within the case? When watching the videos on the site, the demonstration shows that it can fall out quite easily if the case is turned upside down while an iPad is inside. I’m not planning on taking my iPad for a joy ride or anything like that, but I’d like to know that the chances of having to shell out money to have the device fixed is low, or non-existent. What about the build quality? Many of the cases I’ve tried have either been leather or faux-leather, and they started falling apart quickly. The faux-leather on the Dodo Case looks sturdier than anything I’ve come across yet, but I thought that with my last attempt at finding a home for the iPad, too. For those who have had the case for a longer period of time, does the elastic band used to keep the case shut weather quickly? I know typically any time of elastic like that stretches and becomes virtually useless pretty fast, which is a huge downside if you can’t even keep it closed after owning it for more than a few months. Also, with the inside being made of bamboo, with only the pieces of foam protecting the corners of the device, is it possible for the rest of the device to get scratched within the case? Or does the iPad never actually touch the bamboo? I would hate to be stuck in a situation of ironic proportions.
And as for part two, for anyone who owns an iPad and a case for their iPad, other than the Dodo case, what would you recommend? My personal fiances are not unlimited, so it would need to be within the price range. I’m looking for something sturdy and dependable. Something that will last, so I won’t need to take it back or have to buy another one in the future. I’m not the type to own 10 different cases, I just want one case that I can use often without worrying about it falling apart.
Thanks.

Heya – i had a similar problem, I bought a .00 case from the mall and the quality SUCKED – it LITERALLY cracked within 2 weeks and I did NOT drop it.
Ok, now I promise – this is going to sound too good to be true, but it’s not.
I got my OWN iPad case for .00 with free shipping from http://GorillaGadgets.com – granted, they DO have some more expensive cases than that – but for .00 you really CAN’T go wrong – and hey, if you do need to return it, they allow that too – lol
Good luck!
