Question by : How do you get apps on a 1rst generation ipod touch when they all need iphone 3.0 software?
My parents finnally decided to get an itunes account because my mom got an ipad but then when i tried it it always says “this application requires the iPhone 3.0 Software Update” its really annoying cuz i know it worked before but now it wont…. help ive waited years for my family to get an itunes account

Download the update from the store…it costs a little, but if you want apps that’s what you need to do.

Unfortunately, you can’t. Your iTouch is so old (in apple years) that some features aren’t available. Your best bet is to use your mom’s iPad (because I’ve tried it and its brilliant!) or go for the iPod touch 4. I have it and it is fantastic. You’ll love the apps! The only thing is that the camera is rubbish. I mean really rubbish! It’s ok for things like fatbooth, etc. but for an actual camera, it’s only 0.3 megapixels. The video is in hd so that’s ok… I would consider getting the new iPod touch or waiting for next years iPod touch (September 2011) which will probably have a better camera but it will be more expensive. The simple answer is that very little apps still support iOS 2 so it may be time to get a new iTouch. These iDevices have short shelf-life. If you have any questions, just ask.
