no, iPad sucks, other than for entertainment, you can’t multitask at all
Give your answer to this question below!

It’s just a big ipod touch. It won’t work.
It’s not meant to substitute a laptop it’s supposed to be Apple’s “magical” bridge between phone and computer, which you don’t really need. It’s pretty cool for games and entertainment but the keyboard is uncomfortable. There are a few apps similar to Microsoft office but I doubt they are productive. You’re better off getting a netbook if you need portability.
It’s really just a huge Ipod Touch and consider that:
-It will never get Flash.
-No USB
-No Camera
-No Memory Card Reader
Final answer is probably no.
Don’t listen to apple fanboys. I have tried the Ipad for a few hours. It’s obviously fantastic. I was very very entertained but I would never use it for work or to replace my laptop. Also you can’t really replace your laptop, you need to have a computer to plug the Ipad in before it ever works…
All these people who have answered, never owned iPad so they don’t know what it’s capable of.
Lot of babies cry over not having flash. But lack of flash support is the biggest advantage of iPad.It uses HTMAL 5 coding which makes online video pleasure to watch.
Netflix and HULU both deliver top notch video quality on iPad but sucks on computer.Play side by side , you will see the difference.
Now coming to your question, iPad has iWork which is completely compatible with MS OFFICE. You can create word file ,spreadsheet and presentation. You can also connect directly to project to show the slide show with transition and effects.
Other than iWork ipad also has three other Office suites – Document 2 Go, QuickOffice Connect, Office 2 HD.
Great thing is all these office app integrates with Google Doc, DropBox and other WebDAV servers and all the servers services are free.
If you create a document on iPad and upload to any server then you can access from any computer from anywhere in world.
iPad is light weight sleek and very capable device but it’s not intended to replace the computer. If you don’t have any computer , then get a computer first but if you have any computer laptop or desktop, then iPad is great buy.
