Question by Brian S: Path for career in mobile applications development (creating iPhone/iPad type apps)?
I am a teacher who is fascinated with the potential of how mobile applications technology can shape education, specifically elementary and middle school classrooms. I am interested in understanding this technology and learning how to design applications, and eventually to recruit other educators to design applications that will be effective and intriguing for kids.
I am just having a difficult time knowing where to start. I am a smart guy, but way behind in understanding software and design. I really want to immerse myself in this to get caught up. Although a career in educational apps may be difficult to find at this point, what sort of career might I look into that could help pave the way for me to be successful in the goals I am ultimately shooting for? Should I go back to school? Should I work to get certain certifications? Are there good places I can go to find answers to these kinds of questions? I’ll be grateful for any suggestions!

Well, you have not mentioned whether you can leave your full time career and still be able to go to school. Going to school might not be needed but i interpret that as full time study. It is as good as that. At the end of the study you might want to get into software development as a career but that is a long term thing will take you 2-3 years atleast and a couple of projects. All the best!
