It seems to me that the iPad is just a bigger iPod Touch. Is that really the case, or is the iPad different?

No i’m pretty sure that they’re the same but everything just looks better on the iPad and also an iPad is an iPhone for elderly people (:P)
Apple tends to release technology at very small steps at a time.. Each new thing they come out with is basically the same thing as they last put out, but with a couple new features. They milk the market this way.
Besides size there’s nothing really worth the cost of it, unless you wipe your butt with $100’s.
