Question by tom: Should I get the iPad 2?
I really want an iPad. However I don’t want to pay 0 for something now that someone else got to have 6 months ago (if that makes sense) anyways mostly I want to know if you think the iPad 3 will be that drastic of a change and when it will come out. The longest I can wait is April so if anyone knows anything that would be helpful thanks.

Just get it now. Something new will always come out. I might get it too.

I do not know when the iPad 3 is coming out, but probably around Christmas or a little after is what I’m guessing. I have the iPad 2, my mom has the iPad 1. I would recommend waiting and seeing when the iPad 3 is coming out, (unless you are sure that the iPad 2 is good enough for you) because it will be changing at least a little. The changes made to the second one from the first was basically just size (it’s MUCH thinner, and rounder, it that makes sense), the weight (it’s a lot lighter…and better accessories make it even more light), the battery like (mine is WAY better than my moms), etc…but that’s pretty much it. I hear the iPad 3 will have 3D…
So it’s up to you whether or not you want to wait. My mom wanted an iPad by her Mexico trip, which was 2 days before the iPad 2 was released. She got the iPad 1 that late…and it was really cheap. Plus, she doesn’t even really care that hers is much older…
Apple iPad 2 MC773LL/A Tablet is technically a “new” part in that it isn’t identical to the old, it’s a bit thinner and more efficient, but it’s the same resolution. The Glass is thinner though, and this amounts to a fair bit of the weight loss from one generation to the next. In playing with the device it seems surprising but despite feeling lighter it actually feels more sturdy in your hands. I still wouldn’t suggest dropping it, but if it were to fall the iPad 2 certainly feels like it might stand a better chance to survive. Try not to drop it though.
