The CandyShell for iPad (MSRP .95 in Black and Purple) is the sibling of the popular, and one of our favorites, iPhone case by the same name. The case features a rubbery interior and hard plastic exterior dubbed as a hybrid case. The biggest change in the case is the addition of a dock tab. The tap dislocates to accommodate the Apple iPad Dock while still in the case. First impressions are it seems to deliver the goods. The package arrived a bit beat up and the actual case itself had some scratches. We have to assume this is atypical or perhaps we were sent a “factory second,” but we’re still obligated to review it as-is. As a case we would expect it to be in new condition out of the package. Still, these hard shell cases will inevitably display some scratches and scuffs with even light usage. Getting past the cosmetic blemishes, the dock tab proves to be an innovative idea and the case generally fits well while adding a bit of heft to the overall package.
