Question by P G: What’s the best Mac for an iPhone/iPad developer?
Right now, I’ve been helping a friend with developing applications. I’ve taken time to research the development of applications, and I’m currently learning the process so that I may be able to create applications at home. I’m really not an experienced developer on Windows, and I’m completely new to using a Mac for application development. I know how to use a Mac, and I have some books, as well as friends, who can help me through this. Right now, which is the best Mac for using the iPhone SDK. Could the MacBook Pro 13 handle everything well? Would the 15 inch model be more suitable, or should I just choose an iMac over any portable option. I’d really prefer the smallest, most portable Mac that’s still powerful enough to handle the software. Please don’t give me any PC bs, especially considering PCs aren’t even compatible with the SDK. If you’re a developer, PLEASE add any other advice you think I need.

i run it on a 00 imac because of the graphics and RAM it comes with, along with a fast processor. I guess the 13 inch macbook pro would be the most portable, but SDK doesnt take much power, any mac can use it. just pick your favorite.

It really doesn’t matter. My company makes iPhone apps, and the devs all use last gen iMacs. The 13 inch Macbook Pro comes with in a minimum of 4GB of RAM, which is really the only bottleneck you are worried about.
