Question by RenegadeRenji: Would an Ipad serve me well in college? Or should I get a laptop? If so, Which one?
I’m entering a Jr. College this Fall for a General Ed. Upon completion of my 2 years, I hope to move on to a 4-year for either Computer Sciences or Physical Therapy. I need a laptop device to carry along with me, along with my other stuff. Although, some of my friends told me an Ipad would serve me better ,due to the many applications it can run without the hassle of searching the web.Would it be more beneficial to buy a cheaper laptop and still get an Ipad, or should I get a laptop? My “Ideals” for a laptop are as follows:
0-0 price range
15 in. screen or higher
6-8 gb of memory (4 is acceptable)
No less than 320 gb hard drive
Windows 7 Home Premium
If possible an i3 (or above) processor
If anyone has anymore suggestions on accessory specs. Please post in your answer.

Get a laptop… an iPad will be a total nightmare when you get into learning programs, and other things that could possibly be flash based. The iPad is a neat widget… but get something that you are sure can do everything you need it to.

The iPad is replacing the netbook market and its doing a much better job. many people want netbooks for college but they dont get them because they suck.. iPad doesnt suck. It would do you great if you just serach the web, check email, word processing, online work, video, music, etc. The App Store also if full of helpful apps! Theres an app for everything!
For a laptop.. you might want to check out the refurbished macs if you want that kind of price range.
no matter what get an Apple Product. There reliable, have great support!, and they just work!
btw you might want to get http://clamcase.com if you want an iPad for typing.
